Schaefer music school has a music teacher from hell named Fletcher. Played brilliantly by JK Simmons. He teaches big band musicians like the sonsofabitches asshole corporals and instructors we had during recruit days in at Sembawang camp.

Getting pushed to greater achievement was by being abused and belittled unceasingly. Few made it through and most went beyond breaking point. The movie focused on one such young ambitious, friendless drummer, His genius with the drumsticks came at a heavy price.

A stinking selfish attitude making him dislike by friends and relatives. His talent was spotted by Fletcher one day and he took him under his wings and startet taunting him cruelly in exchange for a spot on his jazz band.

So good was JK Simmons acting, that not since Christoph Waltz in Inglorious Bastards was a performance so compelling that the oscar for best supporting actor was so prohibitive for anyone else. New comer Miles Teller played the young obnoxious drummer had an uncanny resemblance of Shia LaBeouf.

Kudos to casting to pick Miles for that antisocial obnoxious vibes to repulse audience like me.
