Review of Whiplash (2014) by Brian W — 20 Oct 2015
After seeing this film my first thoughts were about how well Teller and Simmons portrayed their roles as highly ambitious music student and over-the-top, borderline sadistic motivational music instructor, respectively.
I felt as though the film utilized time well and flowed neatly, which allowed for the buildup of tension often discussed by others who saw the film. Of course the theme of passion for music versus insanity reigned supreme in the film, and I felt as though the ending reflected the path that Teller and his character Andrew had been on throughout the movie.
