Really good, tense examination of the anxiety of performance. Though it does suffer from some minor clunkiness, especially in the cheesy finale, and I think the style of jazz they're playing doesn't jibe very well with the movie's intense tone.
Which was probably an intentional tonal juxtaposition, but sometimes it seemed kinda lame when all the yelling and banging resulted in...something a bit smooth and almost boring. A little hard bop wouldn't have gone astray.
