Review of Whiplash (2014) by Connor D — 16 Nov 2016
Whiplash is an incredible movie that manages to blend together a powerful (even though sometimes predictable) story, great performances by the two leads, especially J.K. Simmons, whose character was clearly inspired by Kubrick's Sergeant Hartman; and an amzing jazz soundtrack, which becomes a character itself.
The directing and cinematography are stunning, and the inspiring message is perfectly conveyed by the memorable final sequence.
