Review of Whip It (2009) by Francisco R — 20 Dec 2011

I had a strong feeling I'd enjoy this just for Ellen Page, but there's so much to love in this, of course her performance in particular, but the film is so effective as an emotional roller-coaster (pardon the half-pun) despite its predictable structure.

There are a couple of slightly odd edits here and there, and as mentioned, predictable and unoriginal story, so only four stars, but I'd recommend this for a great date movie. In fact, it's going to start my list.
