Review of Whip It (2009) by Nilufer R — 08 Apr 2011
Essentially Juno on roller skates, Drew Barrymore's directorial debut is definitely a good start - it's smart, touching, and sprinkled with great moments. It's gentle in its flavour though, dabbing rather than daubing - but Ellen Page is great as always, there's great support from Kristen Wiig and Marcia Gay Harden, not to mention both Juliette Lewis and Barrymore herself giving good comedy cameos.
Fun and funny.
