Review of While You Were Sleeping (1995) by David S — 06 Jan 2010
A film that practically defines the term 'feel-good'; moral dilemmas are faced that don't really matter because everyone is happy anyway, love is easy to find, and families are stable, cohesive units with not a whiff of disfunctionality, the positive energy of them rubs off and makes everybody else happy too.
There is no urgency behind the decision of 'to tell or not to tell'; the film is a fantasy of which the object is stumbling into a perfect life. It is a perfect escapist movie.
