Review of While We're Young (2015) by Delphinus C — 21 Aug 2015
A mature couple become brainwashed by a young, ultra-hipster couple.
The first two acts are kinda slow and tensionless, having only a few real points to make, and a lot of semi-entertaining filler.
The vomiting scene was kinda awful and gross, but I guess it's kinda true to what some neo-hippies are into.
I wasn't liking the direction the film was going until the final act started to come to the fore. Then some character revelations are made, and turning the message on it's head. And while I always hoped this would be the case, I was in the mean-time turned off a bit by the build up.
Acting was good to watch, Stiller, is very much his usual indie-self - nothing new there. Only Naomi Watt's character seemed a little contained at times.
Overall, a little dull, but at least it's actually ABOUT something.
