Can't figure out Brooklyn millennials? Desperate to see broad and clumsy Stiller comedy combined with urban cultural commentary? You're in good company with Baumbach. The critics' reviews are unbelievably out-of-touch.
Watching scripted and obvious narrations by the stereotyped Stiller and Watts characters, upon youth cliches, is painful. Expect no nuanced characters, no profound insights, no belly laughs. Feels a bit like watching someone with the cinematic dexterity of Joel Schumacher directing an episode of Girls.
Awful.
