Review of Where the Wild Things Are (2009) by Jes B — 31 Mar 2012
I don't normally review kids films but I made an exception as a) this was my favourite childhood book and b) my twin girls went to sleep awoooo'ing which means at least for them, it was perfect fantasy.
It does drag a bit, but the bits that are taken directly from the book are fantastic. "I'll eat you up", "please don't go we'll eat you up we love you so", and of course "be still!".
It would be easy to criticise some of the plot and themes and it doesn't quit mirror the story of the book but in the end as a kids film, it satisfies perfectly.
