Review of Where the Wild Things Are (2009) by Cristian B — 18 Aug 2012
A visually innovative and emotionally resonant film about childhood. The film captures all of the raw emotions and wild imagination of a child. Director Jonze creates such a unique world that is dark at times, but also playful and transporting.
The creatures are visually striking and are given life thanks to a great cast of voice actors. Max Records gives one the best performances I've seen from a young actor, conveying all of the complex emotions Max is feeling.
One of the best films of the year and one of the best films about childhood I've seen.
