They got the "wild things" just right, they looked amazing. The soundtrack is awesome. I love how the movie let the kid be a kid, he wasn't a cleaver mini adult, or a useless little kid. He was adventurous and at the same time frustrated.
The movie has a beautiful savage look about it. However, it is adapted from a 35 page kids book, so the script is stretched thin.
