Review of Where the Wild Things Are (2009) by Carson J — 22 Dec 2012
Many won't be able to grasp what this movie is trying to put forward and will be blinded by "silly" costumes and unreal situations. You would not take your child to see this movie, and many adults will find it hard to get past its quirkiness. But for those of us who will see the film for what it is meant to be viewed as will see a whole world of psychology and innocence. You will see the similarities between Max's creative imagination and how it is tarnished by his cruel reality. Everyone can relate some how to each of these beastly characters. "There's one in all of us.".
What you take from this film is completely up to you.
