Review of Where the Wild Things Are (2009) by Amy H — 12 Mar 2013
The film itself is quite creative and original. BUT I do find the theme and the young boy disturbing! Such a disobedient, naughty, uncontrollable child behaved the way he did to his mother, ran away and come home to a piece of chocolate cake and milk? WTF? The monsters are allowed to destroy anything and it's acceptable for a child? Any children who watch this film will think it is ok to act the way this kid did and it's all good, so I'm not sure what the writers are implying.
