Review of Where the Wild Things Are (2009) by Reece L — 11 Feb 2015
Jonze isn't afraid to plum the dark recesses of child psychology, and "Where the Wild Things Are" explores experiences involving isolation, anger, confusion, etc. with a healthy dose of heart and fun.
It's one of the most emotionally overwhelming experiences I've ever had at the movies, its ambitious visuals and firm grasp on what it means to be a child captivating and touching in equal measure.
