Review of Where the Wild Things Are (2009) by Gerald D — 06 Dec 2012
I liked it a lot. However the Wild Things are not the cute monsters like in Monsters Inc. They have real emotions and tempers which could be scarey for young ones. I felt lots of emotions while watching it but never really felt happy though because you knew as good as it was getting Max didn't belong with the Wild Things. Even if they made him their King. Still the movie was visually fantastic, well written, directed and acted.
If there was a moral to the story they certainly didn't hit you over the head with it. Kinda grey there.
My one beef is they really didn't show how it was his imagination that took him away. The way it was shot showed that it was a real adventure. I thought the story was going to be a lesson in imagination.
