Review of Where the Wild Things Are (1975) by Joe O — 26 Mar 2012
Its Beautiful, fantastical, imaginative, playful, heartfelt, meaningful. this movie hits me on so many different levels. as I grew up with this book like so many others did the prospect of it being made into a movie was very exciting.
I think that even if the movie turned out to be crap I probably would have loved it, but it was not. you follow max into his amazing dreamworld where the wild things live. there he not only stretches the imagination and borders of a movie but the movie also touches on topics that are so complex yet so graspable in this movie.
It stands in the list of my favorite movies with names like Kubric and Anderson and Hitchcock and Godard. it is really a fantastic adventure of howling at the moon and coping with the problems life has to throw at us.
