Review of Where the Wild Things Are (1975) by David L — 01 Aug 2014
This film is charming and touching and it seems relevant, but it is a mess in every regard - the tone is unbelievably depressive, the direction is troublesome and it is never as interesting or powerful as it might have been had it been filmed appropriately.
It is a solid film, but is very flawed indeed because children may find it boring and adults may find its lack of greater imagination problematic to say the least.
