Review of Where the Truth Lies (2005) by Mark M — 17 Mar 2006
[font=Times New Roman][b][color=Yellow]This movie was okay, but not great. One of the biggest problems that I had was buying that Colin Firth and Kevin Bacon could actually be such a successful duo; their chemistry doesn?t feel genuine. However, the execution of everything and Alison Lohman?s performance as the little girl-turned journalist was great. I enjoyed many aspects of the film, such as its twists and surprises, not to mention the hot, steamy sex scenes. In some ways, the sex seemed gratuitous and with no point, but every scene with sex is pivotal and it is not the sex, but the events during the sex that are crucial to the advancement of the plot. Overall, it could have been better, but it is well-done.
