Review of Where the Heart Is (2000) by Tay W — 26 Jul 2011
Having read the book before watching the movie, I was very disappointed. There are so many good scenes from the book that were simply skipped over, such as the birthday party that Forney throws for Novalee while she is still pregnant.
To me, it was such a crucial scene that shows Forney's sensitive side earlier on. The whole plot felt rushed. Granted, it is not a short book and there is a lot to cover in the movie, but I was still disappointed.
The actors did well with what little script they had to work with, though.
