Review of Where the Buffalo Roam (1980) by Rosalie L — 24 Jul 2007
Bill Murray and Peter Boyle face off in this Hunter S. Thompson-inspired film that predates Terry Gilliam's Fear and Loathing. This incarnation feels more linear and biographical than the later cult classcic, which was entertaining but didn't exactly focus on Thompson's writing.
Bill Murray is charismatic, goofy, and mesmerizing as Hunter S. Thompson; and Peter Boyle is magnificent as the passionate oddball attorney-turned-outlaw Laslow.
