Review of Where the Buffalo Roam (1980) by Brian N — 24 Oct 2008
Its not a bad movie at all, but don't go into it thinking its going to be Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas. Murray and Boyle do decent jobs in their respected parts, but it lacks much of the fun that Fear and Loathing had in it.
It is what you can expect from any film of the time period, perhaps in 1980, Bill Murray just getting out of SNL, didn't think an all out performance in a film like this would be prudent where Johnny Depp, being an established actor who does characters like that did.
Whatever the answer, they are two separate films, like comparing Star Wars to Star Trek, both good in different ways.
