Review of Where the Buffalo Roam (1980) by Todd L — 27 Sep 2010
"Where the Buffalo Roam" starts off strong but really fizzles in the second half. Bill Murray makes a good Hunter S. Thompson...at least you can understand most of what he's saying (unlike one Mr.
Depp). As is the case with many pieces about Thompson, the people involved are way too starstruck by him while the audience is left wondering why they should care about this idiot. Thompson is an intriguing subject, but show me that his talent reached beyond an ability to get high and you've got a more interesting movie.
