Review of Where in the World Is Osama Bin Laden? (2008) by Christina P — 14 May 2008
Documentaries should do one of two things, and preferably both. One- Give you the tools to make your mind up on an issue, and two- give you an emotional response. Michael Moore does the second of these brilliantly and hence why he's so effective.
Capturing the Friedmans and Spurlock's first film, Supersize Me both did the first. This did neither. It was a boring meander through the middle east, telling us nothing we didn't already know by showing us things we'd seen a thousand times before.
Morgan Spurlock has severely dropped the ball here, by making a boring film 5 years after anyone cares about the issue and taking the subject far too lightly. Disappointing.
