Spurlock's certainly got some issues - well, at first he criticizes American foreign policy, and then he ends up in Arabic countries and seems not to understand his unpopularity among the locals! Does it make sense? Most of all I hated film's sarcastic point of view.
He set on a mission to shoot a documentary, and while laughing at fast food industry was rather OK, mocking Arabic culture is unacceptable. He doesn't achieve that in a straightforward manner, but he implies the attitude by his smirk, by wearing clothing typical to this culture, his comments and most important by what he presents - poverty and ignorance of the countries he visits.
Was his journey meant to show Americans that there is nothing to be afraid of? Because, when you think of it, the whole idea behind it, was just ridiculous... I just wonder if these poor people who he interviewed realised what the final outcome was going to be.
At the end, Spurlock says that Muslims are just like them - Americans. Could it have been any more fake?
