Although the context of this doc is based on a little bit of silliness and humor, I was pleasantly surprised to see that the core of this movie was actually intelligent and insightful. It gets to the heart of the matter when it comes to American viewpoints on the war and the Middle Eastern people in general.
And that is to say that Americans are filled with ignorance and are lacking intelligence when it comes to how we view those people. Of course, that is not to suggest that there are no evil people among them.
But far far far less than most Americans perceive. And also, an unwillingness to admit that our government is very much a part of the problem. And maybe most importantly...as has been said before...our passports are too thin.
It would do Americans good to explore the world more. A LOT more. Much more interesting than I anticipated.
