The glib tone of the opening minutes made me worry that a grossly tragic situation would be fluffed rioght out of reality. Instead as I watched I found some of the best (if not only) footage of the attitudes of other cultures, particularly those considered "most foreign," available in the tightly-controlled American media landscape.
For this decidedly de-fluffing distinction alone you should see it. A peek through the haze, even if a rough one. at least it's something.
