Review of Where Eagles Dare (1968) by Nick L — 30 Sep 2007
Dated, absurd and completely ridiculous, "Where Eagles Dare" is a guilty pleasure best viewed with lager, curry and 'the lads'. Burton is completely p*ssed and overweight throughout, becoming one of cinema's more unlikely crack commandos, while Eastwood is laconically cool, ratcheting up an obscene bodycount in almost a Looney Tunes cartoon manner.
One for after the pub.
