Review of Where Do We Go Now? (2011) by Jay R — 27 May 2012
A searing and tragic serio-comedy that plumbs the explosive terrain (literally & figuratively) in a remote Arab village comprised equally of Christians and Muslims, this film deftly combines humor and pathos to reveal villagers trying to live normal, peaceful lives, but often failing.
The women, who have suffered the most from burying dead husbands, fathers and sons of both faiths to conflict, are determined not to let minor incidents between their men mushroom into violence that will destroy them all.
A poignant and surprising exploration of conflict resolution well worth watching.
