Review of When Trumpets Fade (1998) by Leo L — 10 May 2008
Great WW2 flick about the allied battle in Germany's Hurtgen Forest. Watchable, entertaining, but it's a curious film. The plot is thin and sketchy, there's little character development, and I never really got a sense of the battle at large, just the little details seen through the characters.
It's a decent film, quick and efficient, but lacked the scope and depth of say Band of Brothers or Saving Private Ryan. Recommended.
