Review of When the Game Stands Tall (2014) by Sherry L — 31 Aug 2014
Football movies often like to pull a Cinderella story where an underdeveloped team slowly wins the championship through hard work and inspiration.
This movie does not follow that formula but rather it addressed that victory for the sake of personal glory is not real victory at all.
A very touching story and one that I feel deserves recognition. My only criticism would be that it tends to lose itself a little at times with it's multiple plot threads and gets jumbled at times. However it still is a strong movie with great morals and a wholesome feel to it.
