Review of When the Bough Breaks (2016) by Travis H — 08 Sep 2016
I get that films like When the Bough Breaks are made to serve a underfed community, but that shouldn't give a excuse to this embarrassing thriller that almost shows a sign of decent character conflict.
Jaz Sinclair performs as a typical been-there-no-backstory kind of villian who has a slight motivation in the beginning that jumbles into confusion more and more as the film progresses. Regina Hall, sadly deserves better roles as she feels miscast. She is a giving woman who gave a bit too much as her and Jaz have no real development time to give the audience a understanding of their connection, as Jaz is rewarded with annual salary pay, a home to stay, a car......just for having their child.
In the midst of No Good Deed and The Perfect Guy, When the Bough Breaks is honestly the worst of the three by far, and the previous movies were low hurdles to jump over to begin with.
