Not to be confused with the 1994 title with Martin Sheen and Ally Walker. This is a thrill ride that makes you question what you would do if you had a psycho growing your baby. .

The plot of the story was Regina Hall (Laura Taylor) and Morris Chestnut (John Taylor) who have been trying to have kids but have been very unsuccessful. The married couple are now down to their last embryo and is trying find a surrogate to take the embryo and birth the child. Once they find a Anna Walsh (Jaz Sinclair) who is willing to take on the job Anna gets really close the Taylors and ends up staying with them during the process. While she is there she begins to develop feelings for John and starts to make advances that jeopardizes his career and his plans of having a child with his wife. .

This was quite the story that played out pretty well with a good plot but seemed to not know how to end. This does have the same feel of "The Hand that Rocks the Cradle" but was a very different style of movie. When The Bough Breaks was very well done and the actors played their roles to the tee with no flaws. Regina Hall did a wonderful job playing the role of a beautiful, successful chef but eager wife desperately wanting to be a mother. Morris Chestnut did what he does best by playing the smooth, handsome, successful lawyer who is indeed eager to be a father. The relationship Morris and Regina had was spot on believable. Even their career paths were fitting as well. The only thing that did not seem to believable was the style of the house they stayed in. It may seem petty but it just didn't seem to fit them. Jaz Sinclair was spot on crazy as well as innocent to lower your guard. She went from the shy cute girl to the seductive crazy broad that you didn't know what to do with. I mean what do you do with a woman that is carrying your child and has the legal right to run away with your child when they feel like it? According to the law set in place you can't call it kidnapping because in the eyes of the law the child belongs to her until she releases the baby to you. The story really took it's time as it should have to get you to really like the couple and really feel for their struggle before and after Anna showed up. Morris also did a great job playing the dedicated husband/soon-to-be-father who was getting pretty hefty sexual advances from a young and tender living in his home and did what he needed to protect his child and his wife. Pretty solid movie, however you can tell from the ending that they really didn't know how to end the story. It did not end badly by any means but it just had one of those endings that said, "right here is fine". Definitely a movie I recommend. .
