Do we really believe Chief Brodey is NOT going to kill the shark? Or the Joker is going to best The Dark Knight? Do we really want to see Goerge Bailey go to jail and Bedford Falls be under Mr. Potter's unchallenged rule.
Of course not. Sure it was predictable, just like 90% of everything I've seen this decade. When in Rome has charm enough to outshine some cornball acting and "intersting" plot points. Said and done .
.. I've seen worse.
