Review of When in Rome (2010) by Jeff S — 04 Dec 2011
Now before you start inquiring whether I grew a vagina, let me advise you that I watched this film for the magnificence that is Kristen Bell and for no other good reason. *Gazes longingly at his Kristen Bell poster..*.
*Ahem* Now, with respect to the actual film (you know, the reason for this review), it actually wasn't so bad. Bell and and Duhamel shared some good chemistry and some funny moments, but there were far too many sappy moments to recover from. The intro was bad, the second half of the movie was worse. Disjointed, totally unfunny most of the time, and some real sad cameos (tho it was nice to see Napoleon and Pedro reunited). This movie had the potential to work as a romantic comedy, but it was simply too silly to be taken remotely seriously, and with the exception of Bell and Duhamel's moments, there wasn't much to like here.
If you, like myself, are obsessed with Kristen Bell, it's a given you must watch this movie, but otherwise it's probably best avoided.
