Review of When in Rome (2010) by Hsiao Ling P — 31 Dec 2011
This is really a very simple and sweet, sweet and simple story. It's as fluffy of a romcom as you can get. The skeleton simple story line is filled out by two thankfully adorable and watchable actors, Kristen and Josh.
Kristen is as sweet as she was in You Again. I don't think she can go wrong with such characters in such movies. And after all, she is the voice of Gossip Girl (so, I did spend most of the movie trying to reconcile her with the voice, haha). Josh is cute even though he always only seem to have that one bewildered (and cute!) look on his face but he's so cute and tall!
This movie features lots of New York City (dreamy sigh, you know you love me) and Rome. But this magical fountain thingy reminds me too much of The Change-Up in not a very good way. Haha, but the sight of Kristen and Josh in the fountain is way better than Ryan and Jason at the fountain.
