I think I'm partial to this film because at the time I saw it, I was living a very similar situation; an up-& -down, back- & -forth, off-and-on, at times very tempestuous romantic relationship which had spanned almost 10 years by that point, & continued quite a while thereafter.

Billy Crystal & a pre-puffer-fish-faced Meg Ryan are superb & very believable as two vastly different people whose very deep & abiding friendship turns into so much more. The Delicatessen scene, especially, is a riot!!
