Review of When Harry Met Sally... (1989) by Matt F — 05 Jul 2011
This is the movie that most romantic comedies wish they could've been, or at least written as such. Indeed, the funny and awkward script by Ephron is the film's biggest asset, along with the well-executed banter between the two leads that, above all else, make these characters seem all the more real and hartwarming.
In the end, the only reason the cliched ending works on an emotional level is that, by the time the movie ends, we so want these two to be together that badly. With possibly career-defining outings from all major parties involved, this is a picture that deserves at least one viewing.
