Review of When a Stranger Calls (2006) by Mark P — 17 Apr 2010
Well, put it this way, at about the 60 minute mark I finally decided to search for the trailer of the 1979 original and was more spooked by that once I found it (the one with the actual footage of the audience watching the film).
Back to comments about this film: 1. the colour palette is quite pleasing and consistent, with an almost wallpaper-like use of visuals of the nicely lit house in which the drama takes place (interiors, exteriors).
2. The house phone rings way to many times (I know this film is about someone you don't know calling on the telephone, but this simple point was brought home way too many times). 3. Overall, a bit dumb.
