Review of When a Stranger Calls (2006) by Jon C — 04 Nov 2010
4 years ago I thought it was decent but my proper analysis must be made; this is a giant waste of a movie.
Honestly I don't know why the director thought this remake would be as fresh as the old one.
The biggest complaint people have with this film is that the suspense is taken out already at the beginning.
The majority of the story is slow, tepid, and lagging to the point of where I was falling asleep because of its lack of progression.
I'll only give points to Camilla Belle for looking pretty but her acting really removes any feeling for her character.
There's barely even a script when you're watching just one person peruse around a giant vacant residence for 1 hour.
Worst of all, the killer at the end is such a dissapointment and he only kills 2 people which for some reason happens off-screen.
What the hell?! can't this movie at least try to be scary or build some tension.
This is one of the worst remakes Hollywood have shuffled out.
