Review of When a Man Loves a Woman (1994) by Matthew T — 04 Aug 2008
Weirdly enough this film may have been LESS depressing if it had been a hard-hitting gritty look at alcoholism rather than the dappy Hollywood version of things that it turned out to be. Mind you, what did you expect? Meg Ryan is the prettiest, cleanest alcoholic I've ever seen.
Andy Garcia doesn't understand her pain. Gah. They all live happily ever after.
