Review of When a Man Loves a Woman (1994) by Gitima D — 10 Aug 2008
I wonder how I had never seen this film for so long considering I am such a sucker for romantic movies and the way I adore Meg Ryan and think no romantic movie is complete without her. Andy Garcia was ofcourse as always drool material.
Ellen Burstyn and Mae Whitman- the two little girls were adorable and much too precocious for their age. The movie is a real tear jerker and its after ages that a movie moved me to tears. Meg Ryan was outstanding in this role and not just playing the typical oh sooo cuuttee girl next door mush mush character.
Andy Garcia was brilliant and actually brought those lumps into my throat. He made the role of a devoted husband who loved his wife unconditionally actually believable. (wonder where do you find men like that? ) Overall a great movie but keep that tissue box handy cause you sure are gonna need it.
