Review of What's Your Number? (2011) by Michael L — 29 Jun 2013
So much better than I ever expected, WHAT'S YOUR NUMBER? does eventually devolve into a mess of a RomCom, but for its first third the film is fun, breezy, and refreshingly modern about sexual mores without trying to shock us or gross us out.
Best thing of all is the terrific chemistry between Faris and Evans. You really want these two to get together. I've long loved Anna Faris--why is she not a superstar? Would people really rather watch bland women like Kate Hudson and Katherine Heigl? I just don't get it.
Faris is super as always. And Evans shows what he can bring to a role when he's not trying to be a super hero. This ain't a masterpiece but I was pleasantly surprised.
