Review of What's Up, Doc? (1972) by Timothy S — 02 Mar 2008
In a word, hilarious. I've never liked Barbra Streisand more than in her madcap performance in this film. Ryan O'Neal pulls off the Cary Grant persona perfectly. My wife and I laughed so hard, we had to stop the movie on more than one occasion! Bogdanovich was trying to pay homage to Howard Hawks with this film, but there are a few moments that actually equal or improve upon Hawks's work.
