Review of What's Up, Doc? (1972) by Andrea S — 03 Apr 2008
If Streisand had known she would be totally upstaged by Madeleine Kahn ("I am not a Eunice Burns, I am THEE Eunice Burns) making her film debut she would have opted out or demanded Khan's scenes cut. Streisand is good but Madeleine should be arrested for grand larceny - she steals every scene she is in.! This movie has you rolling on the floor with a great, cast, great locale, great chase scene, and a million laughs.
Best scene: Eunice dragged from the room, leaving scuff marks on the floor. And this court room exchange:
Eunice: [while Judge Maxwell is making a list of crimes with which to charge a group of people] They tried to molest me.
Judge Maxwell: That's...[looks at Eunice].
Judge Maxwell: unbelievable.
