Review of What's Love Got to Do with It (1993) by Cliff O — 15 Jun 2010
Fairly good bio pic of the indestructible soul icon, Tina Turner. Though the tale is told in very broad strokes, far oversimplifying the tale of an abusive relationship, the performances are great. Still, it's hard to not be distracted by Angela Bassett's super-toned arms throughout, in most cases, when coupled with the character's wigs and stage dresses, making her look more like a Tina Turner-impersonating drag queen.
