I thought the movie was just okay, but there were two actors that just blew me away. First, Leonardo DiCaprio totally convinced me he was a "special" child. I mean - Wow!!! And of course, Momma Grape played by Darlene Cates.
Amazing job! And then I found out this was her first movie and she had never had any acting training or experience. Without these two performances I probably would have turned off the VCR.
