One of the most complete movies I have ever seen. Having a brother who is mentally handicapped, this movie hits close to home (especially hard to watch was the scene where Gilbert tries to get Arnie to take a bath before his birthday). Depp and Leo put in a performance of a lifetime, and the last 30 minutes are about as intense as you will find in a movie. This movie gets five stars because it shows the flaws in each character, and makes you appreciate them in spite of those flaws. Each scene is important and necessary in its own regard. And at the end of the movie, you fall so in love with brothers Gilbert and Arnie that you want to stand up and cheer.
