Review of Whatever Works (2009) by Rhys W — 14 Mar 2010
Typical Allen material here, not a bad film by any stretch of the imagination but an entirely predictable one for those who have watched any of his work before. The script is said to have originally been written in the 70's and there are definite parallels with his films from this time, most notably Annie Hall.
The choice of Larry David is however an excellent one as he fits the role (no doubt written for Allen himself back in the 70's) perfectly. Hopefully we can see more between these two brilliant and quintessential New Yorkers.
