Review of Whatever Works (2009) by Sascha M — 12 May 2010
I'm just glad I didn't pay money to see this disaster in a movie theater. Larry David is type cast as the wholly unlikable lead, think Curb Your Enthusiasm, but without the innocent quirkiness and wit; his character is just a one-dimensional, obnoxious misanthrope.
To top it off, whoever wrote this "screenplay", a mere rough draft in my opinion, thought it funny to pair him with a grotesquely exaggerated stereotype of a Southern girl, who then of course falls for and even marries(!) him.
This movie made absolutely no sense to me and was an utter waste of time. I ended up skipping through the last 20 minutes of it, because it was getting unbearable. Let this be a warning: you're in for a serious waste of time of you still decide to watch this Woody Allen disaster.
